Privacy Policy

This page explains what information MonkeyTypeHub collects and how it’s used. We’ve kept this simple because we collect very little.

What we store in your browser (never sent to us)

• Your personal best scores for each test mode, using your browser’s local storage.
• Your chosen display name, so you don’t have to retype it each time you submit to the leaderboard.
• Your selected color theme.

None of the above is transmitted to our servers. It stays on your device and can be cleared at any time by clearing your browser’s site data.

What we collect on our servers

• Leaderboard submissions: if you choose to submit a score, we store the name you entered, your WPM, accuracy, raw WPM, consistency, and the test mode/duration. This becomes publicly visible on the leaderboard page.
• A one-way hashed version of your IP address, used only to apply basic rate limiting and reduce spam/fake submissions. We do not store your raw IP address, and the hash is not used to identify or track you across the web.

What we don’t do

• We don’t require accounts, emails, or passwords.
• We don’t use advertising or third-party tracking cookies.
• We don’t sell or share your data with third parties.

Your choices

You can use the entire typing test without ever submitting a leaderboard entry. If you’d like a leaderboard entry removed, contact us with the name and approximate date/time of the submission and we’ll remove it.

Changes to this policy

If this policy changes, we’ll update this page. Continued use of the site after changes means you accept the updated policy.
